Iowans for Tax Relief But Not Ron Paul

The Ron Paul campaign just sent out an e-mail saying that the Iowans for Tax Relief will not allow Dr. Paul to participate in a debate they are co-organizing with the Iowa Christian Alliance. This seems strange, given that Paul placed second in a straw poll conducted at the NTU conference this weekend. Anti-taxers are generally pro-Paul.

The NTU conference is co-organized with Iowans for Tax Relief. My guess is that someone in Iowa doesn't like Ron Paul. Who could it be and for what reason, one wonders. Dr. Paul's position on Iraq?

Apparently Ron Paul WON the Iowa straw poll put out by the National Taxpayers Union. (Fred Thompson is not a "declared" candidate.)

I just KNEW something was fishy. Time to start sending out emails....

This is a scandal. Ron Paul is the best candidate on the tax-relief issue, yet they do not invite him.

Also involved in the scandal is:

Please demand an on-the-record statement from these people and post responses.

Thank you.

Washington Post just stated that Ron Paul has quite a buzz going on the net so let's show them how real it is. Flood the system with emails expressing our support for Ron Paul and then send some more.

Having worked for NTU for several years, I can vouch for the fact that NTU is a great organization DESPITE its Board being dominated by the Iowans for Tax Relief.

Luckily, these people (the Iowans) seem to want to have a stake in NTU because they like thinking they are big-shots in DC and they leave the organization alone.

Given that Iowa's top income tax is higher than even the District of Columbia's, it would be hard to call "Iowans for Tax Relief" an effective advocate for lower taxes: http://www.taxadmin.org/FTA/rate/ind_inc.html

wgadget is correct. Fred Thompson did come in first, but he remains undeclared.

One commenter here at Free For All tried to publicize Ed Failor's(of Iowans for Tax Relief) home phone number. Apparently, this person had already called and spoken with Failor's father. But, I think that is going a bit far.

Here's a good read!

To long to post up on your board. But it what your talking about.

We must unite and fight to secure Ron Paul's candidacy.

Not inviting him is part of their effort trying to eliminate him by closing his mouth !

Ron Paul will prevail though !

Sign an online petition to get Ron Paul included in the Iowa "forum" here: http://www.petitiononline.com/rpwi2008/petition.html

Ed Failor, Jr., Executive Vice President of Iowans for Tax Relief, is now part of McCain's team.

This seems to be where the decisionmaking came from.
