Emergency!

There’s an extremely dangerous emergency you need to know about, one with the potential of being the most deadly calamity this country has ever dealt with! It seems there’re about 300,000,000 Americas who’s very lives depend upon the solution to a seemingly impossible challenge. If these people don’t get sufficient food within a week or two, they’ll begin dying by the hundreds of millions!

Try to imagine the massive challenge of locating all these people, planning what to plant, doing the tremendous labor necessary to produce the food, preparing, inspecting and packaging it, getting it from where it’s grown to where it’s needed in precisely the right quantities before it spoils and then doing it again the next day and the next throughout the year! Who’s presently responsible for planning, administering and executing all this?

This task must be successfully accomplished or we’re talking about massive starvation. . . and soon! Nothing else comes close in importance; not war in the middle east, not huge hurricanes, not even the hate in “hate crimes.”

This cataclysmic challenge is far too important to be left to selfish entrepreneurs; farmers, ranchers, trucking companies, grocery chains, butchers, bakers, fish mongers and the like. Only government bureaucrats, with everyone’s interest in mind, are in a position to “insure” this emergency will be properly dealt with and have the force at their disposal to make it happen.

To insure we all have something to eat and can avoid this impending disaster government must immediately assume control of all property where crops might be grown and animals might be raised. Government must immediately take over all transportation systems potentially useful for the delivery of food. Government must nationalize grocery stores turning them into food distribution warehouses. A draft for all persons with useful skills must be immediately implemented.

Nationalization is the only way to insure this emergency will be properly planned for and dealt with from the top. Their previous success not-with-standing, we must not let “regular non-governmental people” freely trading their skills, talents, knowledge, experience, labor and savings lure us into the comforting illusion that the so-called “invisible hand” of the free market will actually continue to feed everyone without the planning and mandates (guns and threats) of government. What idiocy! Keeping our population fed is far, far too important to be entrusted to regular people engaged in a free market.

The media will certainly be eager to know there’s another “emergency” as they’re primarily selling stuff for advertisers and thus need to get people’s attention. “Crisis” and “emergency” are great for news operations and they love it when government is able to define another one into existence. (There’re so many more “emergencies” out there just waiting to be “defined,” waiting for similar solutions in which we’re insured success by government.)

OK, we’re all agreed then? Freedom has to go, right? It’s an emergency...EMERGENCY!
