Reading "Jurisdiction" in the 14th Amendment

In Robert Capozzi's blog, he discusses the idea that illegal immigrants and their children are not subject to US jurisdiction. However, such illegal immigrants can be arrested by police or FBI, are within the territorial range of authority and control of the US government, and are subject to US law, and therefore are most certainly under the jurisdiction of the United States. Thus removal of birthright citizenship is entirely unconstitutional under any reasonable reading of the amendment.
