13 LP Candidates Endorse Nolan

Gary Nolan, candidate for the Libertarian nomination for
President, today announced a baker's dozen of endorsements
from current and former LP candidates for local, state, and
federal office.

"When we began this campaign over a year ago," Nolan said,
"I pledged that investing in this campaign would help
produce a larger, stronger Libertarian Party. Help recruit
more Libertarian candidates, volunteers, activists, and
members ... help generate more media coverage for our ideas
... and, ultimately, help get more Libertarians elected.
It's great to see so many current and former Libertarian
candidates supporting our efforts."

Here are quotes from the endorsements released today:

Gary Nolan is the Libertarian presidential candidate
who will get our party out of its electoral rut, by getting
us the high profile press coverage, outreach to non-
Libertarians, and the common sense incremental approach to
issues that will gain the support of millions of freedom
loving Americans.
-- Keith Deschler, 2004 LP candidate for State Assembly,
Wisconsin

As an LP candidate for U.S. House of Representatives
and a long time LP member, I am very concerned about the
future of the LP. Gary Nolan has shown himself to be the
only major candidate for the Libertarian nomination for
President who stands 100% for libertarian principles. He
has my enthusiastic endorsement.
-- Mark W. Stroberg, 2004 LP Candidate for U.S. House,
California

As a candidate for statewide office, it is very
important to me to have a quality candidate like Gary Nolan
at the top of the ticket. His positions and presentation
will sell in Indiana. As the only 3rd party on the ballot,
a lot of voters will be looking at the Libertarian Party
presidential candidate as the only alternative. I cannot
afford to have a candidate that will offend or turn off
voters in the presidential slot. He would not only lose
votes for himself, but also for all of us on the ticket.
That is why I am actively supporting Gary Nolan for
president.
-- Joe Hauptmann, 2004 LP Candidate for Superintendent of
Public Instruction, Indiana [& former Chair, LP of Indiana]

Gary is one of the most articulate candidates I've
ever seen. I especially like how he presents our views in a
way that can be accepted by the mainstream.
-- Bryan Livingston, 2004 LP candidate for State Rep,
Lehi, Utah

I endorse Gary Nolan all the way. He's committed to
doing the job and doing it right no matter what it takes.
Government fiscal reform, social program reform including
social security are just a few of the areas that Gary is
willing to tackle.
-- William Cady, 2004 LP candidate for US House, Texas

After hearing the presidential candidates at the
recent LPC convention, I decided to endorse Gary Nolan.
-- Douglas Arthur Tuma, 2004 LP Candidate for U.S. House,
California

I endorse Gary Nolan for the Libertarian Nomination
for President. As a candidate on a lower political level
(State House), I believe that there can be a positive
trickledown effect from our presidential candidate. Having
met with the three main candidates (Aaron Russo, Michael
Badnarik, and Gary Nolan) I believe that our best option
for the 2004 political season is Gary Nolan. I believe that
we need someone who has a positive, consistent, libertarian
message. We need someone who has media savvy, someone who
can debate Bush and Kerry and present himself in a
compassionate, reasonable and intelligent manner.
This ability in Gary was really brought home at the
Mo - KS - NE state convention debate - when being asked a
question from the audience, Gary tried to answer - and had
to shut down calls from others in the audience to move on
to other questions - in order to answer the question that
was important to the person asking. This empathy and
ability to "really listen to" and answering the "question
being asked" is very important to his credibility/viability
as a candidate. I will be voting (in Atlanta) for Gary
Nolan as our Libertarian Presidential candidate!
-- Rob Hodgkinson, 2004 LP Candidate for State Rep, Kansas

After careful consideration, I enthusiastically
endorse Gary Nolan as the LP candidate for President. While
there are other talented and promising candidates, in my
opinion, Gary Nolan is doing the best job of representing
Libertarian values. And he is working hard to get the
message out. Go Gary Go!
-- Michael Denny. 2003 LP candidate for Mayor of San
Francisco [& former Chair, LP of San Francisco]

I support Gary Nolan for President because he has a
refreshing, uncanny ability to disarm criticism with
solutions that are well-reasoned, objective, and most
importantly, non-judgmental. The underlying common theme
of his comments is always "It's broke, let's fix it, and
this is how".
-- Dominic Inferrera, 2002 LP Candidate for State
Assembly, New York

I endorse Gary Nolan as the best Libertarian
candidate for the office of president because I feel he has
the most experience at really communicating with the
voters. His successful career in radio is proof that he can
reach out to a broad section of the voter base. Gary's
outlook and general approach also makes him an extremely
effective candidate in his ability to talk on all the
issues.
So often we find candidates who are very good in a
particular area, such as the 2nd amendment but they don't
care to discuss a lot of the other issues. I have often
referred to this type of candidate as a one note Johnny. It
is well understood that if you went to a concert performed
by your favorite performer and they only sang the same song
all night it would not be long before you would lose
interest.
I have had the opportunity to observe Gary in action,
such as his interview on C-SPAN and he has the ability to
come off as a regular guy. Someone that the regular
citizens can understand and relate with. Not some
ideologue, or intellectual who is out on the fringe
somewhere.
Lastly Gary has the right attitude and energy that
makes him come off as a real viable candidate. Not some arm
chair intellectual. Not some above it all expert. He comes
of as someone you could have a beer with or discuss any
problem with. We need a candidate who can sell the
Libertarian view. Gary can do this. He talks the talk and
he walks the walk. Most voters will sense this.
-- Spear Lancaster, 2002 LP Candidate for Governor,
Maryland

I had read some comments about Gary Nolan and he
seemed well acquainted with our Libertarian Philosophy.
Then, at our Massachusetts Convention last spring, he sat
at our table. We liked what we heard and he was truly
committed to the Libertarian cause of reducing the size and
cost of big government. I readily endorse this man as our
presidential candidate in 04.
-- Carlton Garfield, 2000 LP candidate for State Rep,
Massachusetts

There is no point voting for any other candidate
other than Gary Nolan. He represents the true heart of
America and what this country is all about. A vote for the
other parties is a vote for socialism a vote for Gary Nolan
is a vote for freedom and liberty and truly not a wasted
vote.
-- Thomas S. Schlegel, 1999 LP Candidate for County
Commissioner, Pennsylvania

In this field of three wonderful candidates, Gary
Nolan has won my enthusiastic endorsement.
-- Keary Ehlers, 1994 LP Candidate for Governor, Texas
